Empowering Today’s Youth: Join the East Orlando Youth Advisory Board

The East Orlando Youth Advisory Board (YAB) is designed to promote the safe and healthy development of tweens and teens aged 12 to 18 who reside in east Orlando.  YAB’s mission is to make a difference by providing a fun and safe place for youth to feel appreciated, loved, and unified.

Who We Are

YAB is composed of a diverse group of passionate and dedicated young individuals. Our board includes the following members:

  • Chair: Dylan Novotny – Oversees board meetings and ensures the group stays focused on its goals.
  • Vice Chair: Yanhua Zhen – Assists the president and steps in when they are unavailable.
  • Treasurer: Daneke Harris – Manages the board’s finances and ensures proper allocation of fund
  • Historian: Sophia Eilert  – Documents key moments and tell the story of board
  • Members-at-Large: Zariah Moxey, Keyara Guillet, Aaliyah Clayton, & Lauryn Jones – Provide valuable input on various projects and initiatives.
  • Mentor: Lasheena Williams — provides guidance and support.

Each member brings unique perspectives and skills, making our board a dynamic and effective team.

Making a Difference in the Community

YAB is committed to creating positive change within the community. We aim to:

  • Provide educational workshops on crucial topics like financial literacy, leadership, and branding.
  • Organize community service activities to foster a sense of responsibility and unity in our youth.
